The Uwharrie Mountains are some of the oldest in the USA. They are hard ROCK that has been impervious to the elements of time. This 720 minute run will test your imperviousness to pain over the course of the June night.
The course will consist of a 3-5 mile loop with one main aid station (with camping available) and a secondary one out on the course. The course will be marked at all turns and mile markers will be on the course.
You have the entire 720 minutes (12 Hours) to get as many complete laps done in the allotted time. Make every minute count!

Required individual gear:
  • Water bottle or bladder
  • Appropriate clothing for all weather conditions
Required Team gear:
  • Individual headlight with extra batteries

Loop course of between 3-5 miles and will have the main HQ as well as a second aid station on course.

Rich and Amy are the Race Directors. Many more will be involved in pre-running the course, setting flags, staffing and organizing HQ on race day. Volunteer registration is also online.

As for all races we hope for good weather but in order to keep this race from just being about surviving reasonable weather is preferred. However this is a rain or shine event so make sure you race prepared. Weather will happen. It is an adventure, after all. This is an event that is being conducted on the Uwharrie National Forest and is authorized under a Special Use Permit.
