If you have an adventurous attitude and are reasonably fit, then you can be an adventure racer.
The shorter races are designed for you and your friends. All you need to finish the shorter races are trail shoes, a bicycle, and a smile.
Literally! We provide all other safety equipment, trail maps, staff, volunteers, challenging course areas.
Can you finish a shorter race? We hope so. Hundreds of others have finished these short adventure races.

Can you finish the longer race? We doubt it. You must be ready to suffer.

We created this series in 2006 to 1) promote healthy outdoor activities, 2) develop a community of local adventure racers, 3) showcase the US National Whitewater Center (11 races and over 1,100 racers, over $21,000 since 2006), and 4) raise money and awareness for the American Diabetes Association ($36,000 to date.) Since 2006, dozens of volunteers have hosted 3-5 races each year.

Poke around this site to register, help as a volunteer, sponsor, learn about adventure racing, or see some great photos and video… Then quit reading and get out on the trails!

Teams of 1-4 outdoor athletes will mountain bike, trail run or hike, orienteer, climb and paddle in rugged corners of the Charlotte metro and nearby mountains. For the shorter races, all you need are sneakers, a bicycle and a smile. For the 26.2 hour race, you need to be able to suffer.
Are you ready?
